In my chiropractic practice, I am always looking for ways to help my patients recover faster and have an improved quality of life.

After reading an article in a chiropractic journal that mentioned the Meditech BioFlex Laser and its benefits to patients, I decided to look into the technology.

An online search revealed various types of laser therapy equipment. After many hours of research, I found the BioFlex website to be most informative and scientifically sound. Several phone calls to the Meditech BioFlex Centre made an astounding impression; the company’s staff members were knowledgeable and helpful in all queries about Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT).

With a slight mixture of skepticism and uncertainty, my wife and I went for our training at Meditech. The materials presented about the beneficial effects of laser treatments stirred our interest.

After the training session, we made arrangements to purchase our first BioFlex Laser unit. We also started sharing information about the beneficial effects of LILT with our patients. The response was enthusiastic and two days after we started the laser clinic, we realized that one unit could not cope with the growing demand of our patients. We needed a second unit from Meditech. Still the demand grew with each passing day, and by the end of week four of operation, we ordered a third unit. Now, six months later, we are in the midst of expanding our laser clinic to twice its initial size, with plans for operating six BioFlex laser units in our clinic.

The immense breadth of pathologies LILT can effectively treat, has expanded my professional knowledge base. Currently my chiropractic clinic not only treats musculoskeletal problems; the clinic is now, also treating all types of acute and chronic inflammatory conditions, and results have been positive and immediate.

A roaring sciatica is no longer a challenge; patients with trigeminal neuralgia, Parkinson’s disease, depression, hiatus hernia, bladder prolapse and chronic cystitis, all saw significant reduction in their symptoms and consequently gained an improved quality of life. Even diabetic leg and foot ulcers healed, within four weeks of initiating LILT treatment.

Hips, knees, wrists and hands with arthritis could return to normal usage and work, after LILT treatment with little or no medications at all. Psoriasis, eczema, shingles all showed vast improvement after four to eight LILT sessions. Sufferers with repetitive strain injuries recovered in half the usual time in our clinic when we used LILT in conjunction with Active Release Therapy.

There is no cure for Lymphedema, but LILT provided relief for chronic sufferers, which was so gratifying, patients and their family physicians were left speechless.

Our clinic had a case where, after four sessions of laser therapy, a fractured humerus requiring surgical pinning no longer needed an operation. This patient’s surgeon even advised the patient to continue LILT treatment and return to his office only for check up. The beneficial results we’ve seen in our clinic just goes on and on, with surprises every day.

The effectiveness of BioFlex Laser Therapy is not only impressive in reducing swelling and inflammation, but also in pain reduction. Patients are amazed at how quickly their pain subsides and at the dramatic drop in their previous requirement for medication. In our clinic, we have found 30% of our patients’ recoveries jump ‘right off the page’ and we have consistently, 97% recovery rate in all of our patients.

Since the introduction of BioFlex Laser Therapy in our clinic six months ago, we have seen 400 new patients in our laser clinic. As for the chiropractic division of the clinic, my new patient volume has, in my 28 years of practice, ‘gone off the charts’. Our clinic hours have extended to accommodate the large influx of new patients; the clinic is now in operation from 7am to 8pm, six days a week. I also hired four new staff to help me cater to the new demand. One of my patients even teased me, saying “Doc, your Freedom 55 looks more like Freedom 95 now.”

Having noticed the marvelous recovery of their patients treated with the BioFlex Laser, we now see an increasing number of medical practitioners in our office, receiving LILT themselves. This of course, has resulted in more patient referral, to our laser and chiropractic clinic.

It is thrilling to see our clinic grow the way it has; but it can’t beat the wonderful sense of satisfaction we get, when we see patients with chronic, debilitating pain, have their quality of life restored after receiving LILT treatments at our clinic. What better reward can health practitioners receive, than to see their patients get better?

In my opinion, the success of LILT has not yet ‘peaked’. With the BioFlex System, we shall expect to see more positive and far reaching results for patients in the near future. With this technology in place, the need for surgery and medication will be substantially reduced; this will alleviate the costs in our nation’s healthcare system and ultimately, citizens of our nation can gain an enhanced quality of life.
